Soooo....it's been a long time since xanga has heard from me.... i suppose an update is due...
There's so much that has been happening lately let me just give you the highlights of what the past few months have held....
- Currently almost done with my second-to-last semester at johnson co.;after my measly eight hours next semester, i'm outta here for good!
- Still working in lawrence at checkers, but contemplating how long i'm gonna be there (i really want a new job!)
- Still planning on getting married, but that's gonna happen a lot sooner than i expected! As it turns out....steve and i bought a new car a few weeks ago (a very nice ford escape) and with all the insurance mumbo-jumbo crap, we've decided that getting married as soon as possible will in the long run save us thousands of dollars...so the NEW WEDDING DATE is now officially January 14, 2006. Let me already extend or apologies to all those who won't be able to make it this day... this is because we have planned a private wedding to be held at my church with only our close families and a few select friends. BUT don't feel bad! The weekend following the wedding we will be having a shower/reception also at the church and absolutely everyone is welcome to come for that! Then the weekend AFTER that, we will be in Oklahoma for a shower/reception with all the okies at steve's church....
If you find the time, please pray for mine and steve's financial situation, which is currently getting very serious... at the time we are looking for an apartment to rent in December for when we get married, and it's difficult to find something thats in our price range... It's funny how God teaches us to have patience and faith in Him...we had just spent the weekend praying and telling God that we were going to have faith that he would get us through financially and then he sends us another big test....to put it simply, Steven got into a wreck yesterday and severely damaged his very expensive, very nice truck. Throughout this new situation, we are still trusting God and we both feel secure that He is still suppliying all our needs (and He is!) His parents have both asked us how we were going to get by, and we honestly don't see how, but we know we will by the grace of GOD...He is soooo amazing!!!
For anyone who is interested, our reception will be January 21, 2006 at Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church in Lawrence, KS.
Let me know if you're seriously interested in coming and i can give you directions!!
Thank you for your prayers....i love you all ~Laura Lou |
